    Cinderella's Castle

    This one only had a 15 min line and wasn't really a ride. You just got to walk through Cinderella's Castle and see some cool artwork. It had some cool views of the entire park though! And there was a miniature version of a crystal castle available for purchase at over $50k!Lue lisää

    Monsters Inc.

    Again, thankfully, we had a fast pass. It almost felt rude getting to walk straight past all the other guests who had to wait 80 mins for this ride. This was a point and shoot ride and was much more chill. The best part was getting to ride through a bunch of familiar Monsters Inc scenes such as the Monsters Inc HQ, Boo's Room, and more.     Splash Mountain

    I forgot to get many photos of this ride but it is essentially a way better version of the log flume. We got a fast pass for this too, cutting out wait time down from 120 mins to 15 mins. Luckily we got put right at the very front of our boat so we got the splash right in our face and got drenched. This was very welcome because it was super hot at this point in the day.Lue lisää

    Star Tours

    Bugger a lot of my photos were blurry for this one! This was a "filler" ride for us. We just happened to be walking past and noticed the wait was only 20 mins so decided to try it out. It was a 4D movie experience, but tbh wasn't that great. We both felt a bit sick afterwards. Maybe it was the 3D glasses making us feel disoriented. Had some cool droids though!Lue lisää

    "Little Green Dumplings"

    Lunch was yum! We had a pizza and a calzone. The dough for the calzone was pink and tomato flavoured. Dessert was a sweet potato crepe. Then we also tried these little green dumplings (as they were called on the menu) which we had seen all over TikTok. They were actually alien shaped mochi and came in strawberry, chocolate, and custard flavours. This was just the energy boost we needed to get back onto the rides!Lue lisää

    Big Thunder Mountain

    This was one of the better rides of the day! We had to wait a full hour for this one as all the fast passes had run out. But it was worth it, despite how tired we were at this point. It was like the Gold Rush but longer, faster, and funner! It was almost like a mini roller coaster.Lue lisää

    Pooh's Hunny Hunt

    This was our last ride for the day at 7pm. We booked a fast pass for this one too, so only have to wait about 15 mins. This was a really great way to finish. It had a similar mechanic to the Beauty and the Beast ride where we were in carts which travelled through multiple rooms and scenes. They were really strict about not taking any photos while on the ride, probably because it is one of the newest rides in the park. Got to see all of Christopher Robin's friends and there was lots of HUNNY! 😁Lue lisää

    Disneyland Tokyo is truly a magical place. We found ourselves saying "Wow!" often throughout the day. It brought back many fond memories of childhood movies and characters. The new rides especially captured that nostalgic feeling well. Tbh the rides, and particularly the thrill rides, weren't the most amazing or thrilling, but it was the character of the park that made it so special. Our feet are in a lot of pain atm but it was worth it! Got a lot of cool merch to bring home.

    Favourite ride of the day: Beauty and the Beast. Space Mountain was a close second.    Lue lisää

    Disney Sea

    Aaaaaand we're back! Same location, different park! Learned a few lessons from yesterday. We arrived a little later because although the queues were massive to get in, they moved pretty fast, so we thought we'd save our legs by not having to wait in line to get in for so long. Also we had a better plan of attack for fast passes today, so as soon as we entered the park we knew exactly what order to buy the passes in. This is the only Disney Sea park in the world - exclusive to Japan!Lue lisää

    Aquatopia

    This was the first ride on our list for the day! Because it was so early, everyone goes to the popular rides first to secure a spot. However, we were relying on paying for those popular rides at times slots throughout the day so we didn't waste time going to the popular ones first. At Aquatopia there was literally no line. We walked straight onto our little boat and rode around the pool. It was like the bumper boats but the track was automated. A very fun and chill ride to start us off for the day!Lue lisää

    Soaring: Fantastic Flight

    This is the headline act for Disney Sea. A really immersive movie experience, so we prioritised this one as our first fast pass purchase. With feet dangling, we glided through various land, sea, and skyscapes. The quality of the movie was incredible, like 4k60fps. The breeze was cool, and as we travelled through the different countries and scenes, the smell would change too! The normal line was 120 mins but we got to go on straight away. Very glad we did this ride as it was magical.Lue lisää

    Under the Sea!

    This was a collection of rides for small kids. Not thrilling but wow the scenery was incredible! They have created such an immersive experience, and with the Little Mermaid music playing in the background, it almost feels like you're under the sea. We purchased a personalised silhouette cut out of our faces (see last photo) that was done on the spot! Such a cool keepsake to take home.Lue lisää

    Tower of Terror

    I was not expecting that! They take you up to the top of the tower so you can the whole park, then they do a dummy drop and only drop you a few metres. Then when you think you're safe, they drop you the rest of the way. Then it takes you back up for another drop!!! Glad we tried it once, but we aren't daring enough to do it a second time lol.Lue lisää

    Toy Story Mania

    Well that was a walk down memory lane! It's such a fun point and shoot ride - probably the best we've ever done! On your cart, you could pull the trigger to shoot darts, plates, rings and balls at targets. All while passing your favourite Toy Story characters. Even the waiting room was awesome - Andy's bedroom, oversized furniture, and army men! I won of course, although pretty far off the daily high score of over 600k!Lue lisää

    Journey to the Centre of the Earth

    If I could choose any ride to do again, it would probably be this one! This was a great roller coaster ride that launched you down into the depths of a volcano, then back up to the very top. There was actual fire down in the depth of the volcano!

    New York Deli

    Stopped at a New York Deli for lunch today. Pastrami sandwich and a coke for Franks. Mine was a spicy grilled chicken bao bun with roast kumara and an apple cocktail - both part of the seasonal Halloween menu. The bao was orange!Lue lisää

    Gondolas

    Raging Spirits

    This was our last ride for the day. It was a pretty standard rollercoaster with one loop-de-loop. I think we were expecting it to be really scary because of all the warning signs in the queues. But it was tamer than the corkscrew at Rainbow's End lol. Still, a great way to end the day. Off to rest our feet now!Lue lisää

    Disney Sea - done and dusted!

    Overall a much better park and a much better day! We managed to do every single ride we wanted (the top 10 or so) without waiting in any of the big queues at all. Just by buying all the paid fast passes and collecting the free fast passes as soon as possible, we got through all the main rides by 5:30pm. A lot of blogs online said it couldn't be done, and that you needed at least two days to get them all, but we managed it all in one. It was a long day though!

    Soaring, Journey to, Indiana Jones, Toy Story Mania, and Tower of Terror were all such great rides. The staff were all super friendly. We managed to cover 26k steps today!

    So Disney Sea doesn't really have many "sea" attractions. I was expecting dolphin shows and such, but it was more just sea-themed rides.

    Merch at both parks wasn't too expensive. Shirts were $30, jumpers $40, Disney ears were $20. Food was pretty cheap too, $50 for two meals and two drinks.

    Also - let the record state: I got about 10 compliments today about my cat shirt today. Japanese people love cats apparently?! They kept saying "neko, kawaii" 😂    Lue lisää

    A sleep in - at last!

    After a few long tiresome days, we rewarded ourselves with a slightly more chill day. Slept in until 8:30, then off to Omotesando for breakfast.

    We got the fluffy pancakes from Happy Pancakes. Each pancake is made fresh, so you have to wait about 20 mins for them to be made. They were delicious! Not much too say other than they tasted like pancakes, but fluffy! Frankie got hers with dark chocolate and granola, I opted for banana, chocolate, and cream.

    Then we explored Omotesando for a little while. Found a cute shop that sold handmade chopsticks - the fanciest ones I could find were about $2,500! Then I couldn't resist going into the Lindt store where I got a selection of flavours, including the matcha flavour which is exclusive to Japan!    Lue lisää

    Ueno Zoo

    Just a quick trip the Ueno Park to find Ueno Zoo. It was nice to get out of the concrete jungle and see some greenery again! We saw RiRi the panda who is quite famous in Japan, although all she does is sit there and eat bamboo 😂Lue lisää

    Warner Bros. The Making of Harry Potter

    I took over 250 photos here so this is just the highlights. It was so cool re-living some of the scenes from the films. You could ride a broom, get sent away with floo powder, put your faces on an animated "wanted" poster, become a living photo frame, and more! Highlights were seeing the Hogwarts model, Diagon Alley, and animatronics. Thankfully, we had a digital guide which was in English, which was really helpful because all of the videos that were part of the tour were in Japanese. It took us about 3 hours to do the tour, including sitting down to have some snacks (Hufflepuff donut and Ravenclaw donut, Happee Bday cake, Gryffindor meal), and to do some shopping!Lue lisää
