Day 31: To Hospital De Obigo

after a good breakfast at the albergue, left at 7:45 for the roughly 15 km walk to next destination. Very straight roads stretch into the distance beside well irrigrated crops of cereal crops . At one point hard to avoid the sprinklers which sprayed water across the path . Then for a time the path followed along side a railway line. Stopped at the first village after 10km for a mid morning break and a coffee. A popular spot saw several familiar faces. Arrived at destination about midday crossing the 13th century bridge one of Spain's oldest Gothic spans. Today only 4 of the 19 arches are original. The English apparently blew up the bridge to stop Napoleon. Have a lower bunk in a very clean room of only two bunks and have a key to the room.Read more
