DAY 63: Rest day in Santiago

As I'm coming back to Santiago after a few days the intention was for today to be mainly a rest day. A notable exception being Mass at 12 noon in the Cathedral where I was able to get a good seat as I arrived there early and was very fortunate to see the swinging of the smoking 'botafumeiro' (a reacement for the original which was stolen by Napoleon's troops). Photography was banned during the service but out came everybody's phone or camera when the process of swinging the botafumeiro by a team of re-robed priests began.
