Unexpectedly Manapori

At 7.00am we took a 10 minutes walk from our campsite to the landing stage for our departure to Doubtful Sound. To our disappointment, it had been cancelled because the engine of the Doubtful Sound boat had an oil leak. We are rebooked for Sunday but have to stay at Manapouri a few more days. However, we did have a lovely day. We did a 4 hour walk on the other side of the river , with a lovely lunchtime view. We invited Tom, a solo traveller, to join us. He is a Calafornian and it added to our day to share it with him. We managed to fit in a swim in the lake, which was refreshing after the long hike. It's good to be staying 3 nights in one place. The enforced slow down has come at a good moment.Weiterlesen
