Lakes and Glaciers

Another pre dawn start. You've got to fit it all in! It's cold at this time of day, but we eventually thaw out. Dawn on Bruce Bay beach. We were inspired by Jonny and Immy's book to walk the 1.5-hour hike around Materson Lake, aka Mirror Lake. Beautiful images of Mounts Cook and Tasman. Photographing and just standing and staring took most of that time. Then, on to Franz Joseph glacier for a landscape to make you feel small. Our campsite for the night was Hokitika.
