An Early Start and a Roman Marathon

We kicked off the day bright and early with a cappuccino and chocolate croissant at a local café before heading to the Vatican for a guided tour of the Vatican Gardens and Sistine Chapel.

It was my first time wandering through the Vatican Gardens—lush, peaceful, and full of hidden beauty. Truly breathtaking. From there, we made our way through the ornate candelabra room, the rich tapestry gallery, and my favorite: the incredible map room. No photos allowed, but honestly, some things are better left etched in memory.

And we didn’t stop there—after the tour, we walked over nine miles across the city! First to the grand Piazza del Popolo, then along the charming Via Margutta, through the Spanish Steps, and finally back to our apartment near Santa Maria Maggiore.

Needless to say… we are wiped out—but what a day!

It’s only 6pm… we both need a nap before heading out to a proper dinner!
