Two nights here with a huge fruit bat colony. They were no problem at all. Noisy in the morning and evenings and managed to avoid being shat upon.

Toured the tiny local cemetery and noted the high number of infant and child deaths during the 1800's. A little search tells us the main reason for this is due to disease such as typhoid, cholera, measles, etc. The reason was doctors treated only the symptoms because at that time they did not know the cause.

In addition to this, in Australia it was not a requirement to list cause of death on a death certificate until 1910. Some causes listed around this time were "...marasmus, inanation, teething, jailfever, convulsions, exhaustion of nervous system, death struck, galloping consumption, French pox, phossey jaw, act of God, horrors, Kings evil, and mortification.Les mer
