4,000 miles in 8 hours by air, another 5 hours in 2 buses, plus countless hours in waiting areas and terminals, and a mere 22 hours later I'm in Pamplona. The countryside we passed through was rolling hills of brilliant yellow flowers, lime green new growth fields, waving grass fields of bright green, and deep green stands of trees. We passed peach orchards and freshly pruned vineyards, all with the mountains looming behind them. On the tops of many hills stood enormous wind turbines, harnessing God's power for energy. And on other hills stood ancient stone churches, their bell towers ready to ring out a greeting. It was impossible to miss God's presence all around, and every time I felt exhaustion draw me into feeling overwhelmed, something out the window would remind me, "you're not alone here."
A break in the rain let me explore Pamplona a bit before enjoying one of my last leisurely hotel showers for a while. A good night's sleep should have me ready for another bus tomorrow!Read more
