• Good bye Istanbul, Hello Jordan!

    September 25, 2025 in Jordan ⋅ 🌬 24 °C

Yesterday was a full on travel day, but one that went surprisingly smoothly from start to finish.

We had a late check out at 12, which gave us the perfect excuse for a lazy morning. After a slow start, we packed up our bags, had some breakfast, and checked out of the hotel, ready to start our journey.

Our first stop was the port, where we hopped on a ferry across the Bosphorus to Kadikoy. The ride gave us one last glimpse of Istanbul’s beauty before we left. From there, we jumped on the M4 metro line and rode it all the way to the airport an easy and efficient trip.

We arrived at the airport around 5 pm, which meant we had plenty of time to kill before our flight. Naturally, that meant food. Unfortunately, airport dining is never budget friendly, and Turkey’s airport prices really did a number on our wallets. That made us even more ready to move on from Istanbul’s pricey side of life.

Once we’d eaten and lingered for a while, it was time to check in our bags and head through security. With some time to spare, we wandered through duty free and treated ourselves to a couple of mini bottles of Baileys. A quick stop at a cafe for a cup of ice later, and we were happily sipping Baileys on ice while waiting for our gate to open. Not a bad way to pass the time before boarding!

The flight itself was smooth and lasted just about three hours. When we landed in Jordan, we were greeted immediately by our tour guide, who was waiting for us right at the gate. He made the whole arrival process easy, guiding us through security and customs without a hitch. A car was already waiting outside to take us straight to our hotel.

By the time we arrived it was 4am….., and we were so ready to call it a night. We checked in, dropped our bags, and went straight to bed, excited to wake up in Jordan and start the next chapter of our travels.
