At unforgettable day in Jordan
September 27, 2025 in Jordan ⋅ 🌙 20 °C
Our Jordan adventure officially kicked off today, and what a day it was! We started the morning with a big buffet breakfast downstairs, the perfect fuel for what we knew would be a jam packed day. With full bellies and plenty of excitement, all 11 of us piled into our little minivan, ready to hit the road.
Our first stop was Mt. Nebo, a site of history and spirituality. According to tradition, this is the mountain where Moses was granted a view of the Promised Land before his death. Standing at the top, you can see sweeping views across the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and even as far as Israel. The site also features the Memorial Church of Moses, built over ancient ruins with stunning mosaics that have been beautifully preserved. It was a lovely way to start our tour, surrounded by both history and breathtaking landscapes.
From Mt. Nebo, we drove down to a gorgeous resort perched right in front of the Dead Sea. We had about four hours here to relax and make the most of this once in a lifetime experience. Of course, first on the list was getting into the famous waters themselves.
Nothing can quite prepare you for that first moment when you step into the Dead Sea. At first, it feels just like walking into any other body of water but then, as soon as you lean back, it’s like the water just picks you up and refuses to let you sink. One second you’re standing waist deep, and the next you’re floating on top like a floatie. It was the strangest, most incredible sensation not to mention absolutely effortless. You didn’t even need to try to float the water did all the work.
We were laughing the whole time, spinning around, lying back with our arms behind our heads like we were on sun loungers, and even attempting to be superman (as you will see in the video). Jayde, ever the daredevil, decided to dunk his head under the water…. a terrible idea, as the stinging salt had his eyes burning instantly. Lesson learned!
We floated and played around for a good 30 minutes, amazed that no matter how much we moved, the water kept us bobbing on the surface. It was equal parts surreal, hilarious, and magical and something neither of us will ever forget. Afterward, we rinsed off the salty layer and headed back into the resort to enjoy the rest of the facilities.
There was plenty more to do here, we flew down the waterslide, swam in the sparkling pools, and lounged under the sun. By lunchtime, we were more than ready for the buffet spread that was included and it did not disappoint. The food was fresh, delicious, and a perfect way to refuel.
At 2pm, we packed ourselves back into the minivan and drove an hour and a half to Kerak Castle, one of Jordan’s most famous Crusader fortresses. Walking through its stone halls and underground passageways it was easy to imagine the battles and history that had unfolded here. The views over the surrounding valleys were just as impressive.
As the sun began to set, we made our way to our final stop of the day….. Petra! Pulling up to our beautiful hotel, we could hardly believe that tomorrow we’ll be exploring another Seven Wonders of the World!! The anticipation is skyhigh, and if today is anything to go by, tomorrow is going to be unforgettable.Read more
