Trail angel Abel

We were lucky enough to be picked up by trail angel, Abel, yesterday. He was waiting at the first trail exit to Tehachapi to see if any hikers wanted a ride to town.
Today, he offered to take us back to trail so we could slack pack the 8.5 miles to the second trail exit to Tehachapi. He hiked the first three miles with us before going back to collect his car, then driving to meet us at the second exit to bring us back to town. Blown away by his generosity and kindness.
We are enjoying a zero day in Tehachapi tomorrow before starting north again. Next stop, Kennedy Meadows South, the gateway to the Sierras!Read more
