Angele and I had an uneventful flight into Athens, breezed through customs , and our bags were on the belt! Great so far! Not so fast.....
Our arranged transportation did not arrive and later found out they canceled. Unfortunately, taxi and Uber drivers are on strike, so our only option was to navigate the Metro. Miraculously, some teamwork, mostly Angele, navigated us through two stops and an 8 block walk uphill to our hotel without any missteps.
The train was absolutely packed and was an uncomfortable 40 minutes.
Had to wait a couple of hours to check in but took a nice nap.
The AC Hotel has a rooftop bar/restaurant with an Asian Fusion theme with a view of the Acropolis. My first experience ordering seabream as an entree was great, as shown in one of the photos.
Had white and red Greek wine that was actually tasty! Note the dessert in the photo was unlike anything before. Raspberry flavored shell with a vanilla cream with raspberry sauce and mixed berries.
Tomorrow, we fly to Mykonos with the Rodinos and begin the real adventure.Okumaya devam et
