A restored archeological site of a Polynesian “shaman’s” house and ritual site, called a marae.
Exploring a random road in the rain

Thunderstorm!
Caves!

Vaipāhī Water Garden

Significant to the after-death rituals/traditions of the Polynesians, and a little hike to what was not in fact a viewpoint
Lunch!

Raw fish and veggies in coconut milk and lime. Back tracked 12mins for the good reviews and cheap prices
Teahupo’o Wave

World renowned big waves on the reef here. The surfing for the 2024 olympics was held here, and lots of Polynesian history around surfing here too
Stop for sunset

Kia Ora Lodge

Another group dormitory for tonight, just one other guest in the room. Cheaper to book in person than online, only 2770F!
Vaihi Waterfalls

Exploring around the east side of Tahiti

Walked down a couple paths and chatted with some locals swimming in the river
Les 3 cascades

More like 1 cascade. There’s supposed to be three waterfalls here but two of them have been closed for 8 years due to flooding. Just Vaimahuta is still open, very nice waterfall though!
Lunch and Watching the Surfers

Pointe Vénus

Northernmost tip of Tahiti, went for a beautiful sunset swim, lots of activity on the beach and people swimming, even into sunset!
