Sugihara House in modernist Kaunas

Visited Sugihara’s House which was the Japanese Embassy in Kaunas, now a museum commemorating the work of Chine Sugihara who, in conjunction with the Netherlands, issued visas saving approximately 6000 Jewish lives. Now a UNESCO world heritage site preserving modernist Kaunas villa architecture.

All other villas in this area have fences but Sugihara’s house does not, symbolising freedom.
