Day 1
The Train journey and going on board

We got up early had a good breakfast. The taxi came on time and took us to the train station. The train was on time and now we are traveling toward Nürnberg. We have now arrived in Nürnberg after a 3,5 hr journey, the bus was waiting for to take us to the Harbour where the ship is lying at anchor. We are now registered and the Holiday can begin. After dinner we herd a lecture about the canal we we we traveling along for the next few days, then it was on deck for some fresh air and a lovely sunset, before dropping into bed.Read more

First day on board

After a good nights sleep we had an early start for our trip to Nürnberg with the bus. The Hafen is outside of the city and it takes about 20 min to get into the city. We had booked a combination off bus und foot tour with a guide. It was a very interesting 2,5 hrs with a lot of information and a lot to see. So much that we have decided to come back for a long weekend.After we got back to the ship i decided to go for a swim.Read more

Day 2
Casting off

Up until know we were teid to the key in Nürnberg. Now the order is cast off this was supposed to be at 17:00 hrs but due to a couple not getting on board on time we were delayed by a half an hour. Well, then by brilliant weather we set off up the Main / Danube Kanal towards Bamberg which is our next destination. We will arrive there at 07:30 just in time for breakfast. After a few minutes we had to Manöver the first lock wich ist to be the first of many ( I think 45 altogether. As you can see there is not much room so the captain is always shouting “sit down and keep your head down “ After the first to locks it was time for dinner. . After that we sat on deck until it was dark and maneuvered through two more locks.Read more

Bamberg

As we woke up this morning we had arrived in Bamberg. So after a shower and a good breakfast we started the tour of Bamberg. After a short bus trip we were in the middle of Bamberg. This is a very old town datimg back a long way and with a very intetesting history. After a small coffee break it was back to the ship and cast off at 13; 00 on the way to Würzburg.Read more

We have now left the kanal and are now on the River Main. The weather is great the food as well. Our next stop is Würzburg we will reach it around 13:00 hrs tomorrow.

The morning before Würzburg

Once again we wake up to blue sky and sunshine. Then of to breakfast and then up on deck to watch the wunderfull landscape sail by. As we aproached Würzburg we could enjoy the view of the castle throning above the town. This morning we had to manouver another 5 or 6 locks, and as you can see there is not much room.Read more

Wertheim

As we woke up this morning the sky was grey and it was raining, just like the weather forecast had predigtet. We were supposed to be in Wertheim by 09:00 but due reasons we do not know the ship docked at 10:30. We were then picked up by a small tourist train and taken to the castle Ruin high above the town.
