    A scenic 7hr drive!

    August 10, 2016 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

So our route to Saint John had to be rejigged due to road closures from the wild fires...We ended up driving almost back to Halifax before heading out of Nova Scotia and back into New Brunswick, taking a total of 7hrs, driving an hour each on the Trans-Canada highway...rather dull after hundreds of kilometres. Saint John however has rather more going for it than Fredericton did, and was Canada's first legal city in 1785. Our hotel is actually one of a number of buildings bought to save them and keep their heritage - ours is a lovely red brick building with fab suite in the centre of town....and free laundry, yay! We had a wander through the town and the harbour before returning to the room with a bottle of wine and Dominos ☺ We plan on visiting the New Brunswick Museum tomorrow before heading into Portland for a night.Read more
