Back to Cafe Noir

In desperate need of a coffee, we turned towards the Museo Storico Navale in Castello, walking along the Grand Canal and hoping to find a suitable cafe en route. We arrived at the naval museum to a distinctly closed looking building...according to our guidebook it shuts daily at 1.30pm and this would have been more helpful had we read it before heading out. Undeterred, we walked through the Arsenale and through backstreets of Castello passing one of Venice's many leaning ball towers. Heading down Grand Canal and again towards to Cafe Noir, we stopped to try more street food - gamberi & calamari this time. 21000 steps into the day, arriving at Cafe Noir was a most welcome break. On returning back towards our hotel, we stopped at Goldini's House Museum - consisting only of 3 rooms it would have been very disappointing had it not been essentially free as part of the Museum Pass.Leggi altro
