Zabriskie Point

Heading back to the hotel, we took in a few more sights - a 9-mile road through the 'artist's palette', driving through the astonishing colours and hues of the mountains. Then a stop for views at Zabriskie Point, once again venturing into the heat for a short uphill trail (which is unbelievably tiring under such a hot sun), before stopping at the Harmony Borax Works, whose quarter-mile trail nearly finished us off. Despite the heat, the views were spectacular and far more varied and creative than the name 'Death Valley' suggests.

In the evening, Ben took advantage of the extraordinary darkness to do some astrophotography...and even at nearly midnight, the temperature was well over 30°!Baca lagi
