San Lorenzo and the Palazzo Ducale

Off the harbour, the buildings in Genoa tower in a rambling fashion creating alley upon alley with only slits of light at the top. We navigated through these following an online walking route past to the San Lorenzo church, where the Palm Sunday service was just about to begin. We were able to sneak in though and see the shell on display that struck the church but never detonated in 1941.

Around the corner on the Piazza Ferrari, beautiful buildings surround the central fountain including the Palazzo Ducale. Wandering in, we ended up on the second floor and snuck in the back of a talk and an orchestra warming up to see the beautiful rooms...not sure if we were meant to be there!
