TravelerHere I am today, studying about the Romans in Britain AD 43 on . I had thought i'd walk all the way to Haltwhistle, but by the time I walked to Vindalanda and then walked around the site with a guide, it was time to head into town to get groceries for the week.. I again met Carl whom I'd met at the hostel, he is a diagnosed paranoid schitzophrenic, who maintains himself now by living in youth hostels all year round! What a character indeed, he was then diagnosed with ADHD and Autism. The poor guy cannot stay still, cannot stop talking and has a constant smile on his face is self professed "always happy" is a born again Christian who knows God sends him messages and people to talk to. A lovely guy, I'll ask if he'll take a photo with me, inspirational indeed. He was also exploring the Roman Fort here, it is just amazing and the soldiers and village people almost come alive as the guide tells about their lives as if they were walking amongst us. They have thousands of artifacts they have dug up and invite volunteers to help them excavate, it is definitely a family affair as well, the site being owned by one owner since the 1960s. I couldve spent a whole day here but left to get into town. The walk to the site is easy enough and just a few kilometers.
TravelerBit worried about your dreadful trip north, sweetheart!! Thank goodness there are caring people in this world. Mind you, it's because of your wonderful grace that people assist you. ❤️❤️❤️. Is this you getting to Scotland?
TravelerIt was a dreadful trip on that train phew! I feel so sorry for everyone travelling and trains getting cancelled all over the place, the strikes, NHS as well, bus timetables reduced, people so unhappy about the state of the place. I am so blessed, one traveller today paid my bus fare even!!💖❤️💖
