Arrived last night after a 21 hour trip from Home. We were very tired. Stayed in the Captain Cook hotel . We learnt that Captain Cook travelled here on his third and final voyage and mapped the Alaskan and Brirtish Columbian coast lines. In the evening we ate in the Whales Tail bar , a typical American sports bar . We had Alaskan clam chowder and I had Alaskan amber ale.
We had breakfast on the 10th floor with good views to the coast path. Cold scrambled eggs, bacon and mixed veg . Discovered cakes and orange juice in other dining room . Then we walked along coastal path for a while. Saw the Captain Cook monument. Lots of information boards around the city. Bought some teeshirts.
We left the hotel at 11 on a coach to Seward
A very scenic drive. We stopped at a wild life conservation centre and saw reindeer, elk Brown and black bears, wolves.
Boarded the ship and found we had been upgraded to deck 8 as there was a fault with our cabin on deck 4.Read more
