On our way to the park of the day, we couldn’t help but stop in Valle. This gas station is all decked out in Route 66 style complete with retro cars and trucks. I also loved the throwback campgroundもっと詳しく
We made it up to the South Rim (despite being afraid the highway would be closed from a forest fire the day before) and the facilities are beautiful. They have an entire village up here complete withもっと詳しく
This is the classic view from Mather Point, a short walk from the Visitor’s Center. It’s too cool that we can take all the time we want to hang out and really take in the views without jostlingもっと詳しく
If we ever stayed in the park village at a hotel, I would pick El Tovar hotel. This is the view off the patio and all the guests were just sitting around taking it in.
We decided to drive out the east road, Desert View Drive, to see all the viewpoints. We drove out to Desert View Watchtower, where we discovered the “Snack Bar” serves only ice cream and cookies.もっと詳しく
Another spectacular view and few people to share it with.
We started off the day at Meteor Crater RV Park, a nice stopover close to a bunch of cool sights.
