  • Hike to Dajti

    With the teleferico we went up to base camp to continue with a hike from 1200 to 1600m to the mountaintop of Dajti with a stunning view on Tirana and surroundings. Finish of with a local beer and a rain storm coming.Read more

  • Bold guy, shitty move

    After waiting 2h at the Kosovan - Serbian boarder a bold Serbian boarder controller told us that US citizens can not cross this boarder and have to enter via Macedonian. Not even the car-a/c or our fancy for free Kosovan car insurance helped. So back we go to Skopje to continue zo Belgrad, Serbia.Read more

  • Bike tour Belgrad

    Tour with iBikes and our guide Simon. With leftish point of view he explained to us rise and fall of the white city beginning with the Celts (300 BC), continuing with the Romans, Slavs, Ottoman empire, Austria-Hungarians, Nazi Germany and the change to a kingdom with the end of WW2 turning it into the recent Yugoslavia with its desolvement in the 90s.
    The change of perspective from Serbia being the oppressor to being the victim gives a wider empathy to another side of the (ongoing) conflict.

  • Independent Belgrad tour

    The big city of Belgrad can be hardly explored per pedes, so with the use of bike and (jay-) bus we made our way across town and surroundings, for example the Ada recreational area with an artifical lake and endless possibilities for sportive activities.Read more

    A walk through the city with its green horseshoe passing the train station and Hotel Esplanada at its lowest point. After a Mojito in the park Adrian and I meet at the first museum of our entire trip: Museum of broken relationships
    After that we need a drink and proceed through the historic town gate to have goulash soup and beers.
