The eagle has landed after a pleasant and uneventful journey. Did have to eject a rather disgruntled German guy from the bottom bunk which l had booked months ago. Bit cool for an early swim

Nice coffee on the roof before breakfast .... I'll pass on the rooftop pool though
TravelerLovely looking hostel why does it not surprise me there is absolutely no people walking the streets below. Enjoy your coffee and an early morning dip would set you up for the day 😂

Cake for Breakfast !!!!!

Slept very well last night, up showered and ready to go . Lovely girl on reception very kindly let me have my breakfast early and what do you know along with the usual suspects Cake for Breakfast ! Short day to start off my Camino from Porto to Matosinhos about 15 K a lovely walk out of Porto along the Douro River until it meets the Atlantic. Well that was okay .I felt I wanted to keep walking but it's got hot. Lovely lady let me in 2 hours early bit of charm and got the same bottom bunk I had in 2019

Today Footprint

Lovely walk today turned out to be closer to 30k than 25 but met loads of interesting people. Camino Family maybe starting to shape the next few days will tell . So far represented are Canada ,NZ, Finland , Denmark, and Germany. Coffee was exceptional good today give me a lift over the last 5k part of which was board walk 4 ft deep in Sand . Big Hostel tonight very Youth feeling .Sharing room with 4German male pilgrims not much craic. Hope to be off shortly after 7am early breakfast booked ….another reasonably long day ahead heard great things about the next Albergue including a swimming pool in the garden and impromptu music if lucky .

Traveler class aren't they and there is shape of a spike to stick in the sand ! Does your area of PT have the underground rubbish silos that everyone uses then a truck comes a long and Hoover's it all up

I am so over boardwalks give me a forest floor or even cobbles.... Remember what I said about cobble stone ignore that bring back the board walks 😛

A Little Spot of Heaven

Arrive a little bit later than I had anticipated but today walk was definitely of two parts first along shore pleasant cool comfortable with lots of chats second heavy going through cobbled by-roads and sandy treks with sun starting to bear down, few time thought I was really lost but eventually turned up at this spot beautiful. Really starting to get annoyed with this app lost the footage before I stopped for coffee . I've tried to give you a sense of a lovely morning ...just as I was about to post this I was joined in my room by the landlady and two German Fraus of around 50-60 the look on their faces when they saw me in the room probably showed as much surprise as I felt. Lovely meal tonight at recommended Tapas bar superb but huge portions . Doggie bags a must Most of the guests there tonight from Albergues in town apart from me all ladies of a certain age the craic was good Apart from 1 Bulgarian and 1 Australian lady the rest all soike German but good fun. I left early after a couple pintsI I was getting the taste for it thought maybe time to go 30+ K tomorrow. Last really long day I think 🤞Good Night AllRead more
