    Pokhara - what a ride

    7 hours for 200 Km, the plan for yesterday was an adventures car ride, we sure got that. Today we enjoyed a beautiful sunset close to the 8000-meter high mountains, visited lake Phewa and some sights.     Lumbini - short stopover

    After yet another tiring 7 hour car ride (for 200 Km) we arrived in Lumbini - where Buddha was born. Only a few Km from the indian boarder, this place is poorer, than all the others, we've stayed in so far. After checking out the most important sights (Birthplace tempel, stone, baby buddha and the eternal peace flame) we took an early night and saw the international tempels today. Even visited the german buddhist tempel! After a 4 hour drive to Chitwan, already saw 3 elephants today...Leia mais

    Chitwan

    3 days of jungle and wildlife - amazing! Crocodiles, rhinos, birds... and a pretty nice hotel (besides the hard beds). Moreover wandered through Tharu villages and where part of the cultural program. Yesterday 9 hour drive back to Kathmandu, the streets here really need some repair! Then got treated with a nice nepalese dinner and some regional dances by our host - lucky, I didn't have to get up on stage 😉Leia mais

    Dubai - what a retreat!

    After pure poverty in Nepal, Dubai is a huge contrast. Our hotel offered amazing breakfast and a pool with incredible view. Visits to Burj Khalifa, Dubai mall incl. aquarium, spice and gold souks and the breathtaking fountain shows in front of the skyline - speed sightseeing at its best!     Abanotubani-quarter

    Today we walked around in the Abanotubani neighbourhood - real nice! Took the cable car, enjoyed a nice view over whole Tsibili, the mother of Georgia and the castle, checked out the botanical garden and had a nice body rub incl. hammamlike massage in the sulfur bath no. 5 - feeling very clean now 😉Leia mais

    Sighnaghi - the wine city?

    Our hosts friend Giga took us to Sighnaghi today, beautiful and very clean small village. Apparently this is the wine city of Georgia. Well, the best place trip advisor recommended was closed, the 2nd local winery was full of russian tourists and the 3rd place only had two wines, but the "free" tasting also offered cognac and georgian vodka 😉 had a good time anyway!Leia mais

    Kazbegi - mountains I guess

    Today we took our last tour of the sabbatical - a ride to Kazbegi. After visiting some beautiful monasteries and a water reservoir, we hired a driver to take us up Kazbegi mountain.
