  • Valley of the Giants

    5. februar 2024, Australia ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

An amazing walk in and amongst the Tingle Trees... these red Eucalypts only grow in this area and can grow up to 20 metres circumference at the base of the trunk!

The Tree Top walk was incredible being able to be amongst the branches... but it was very high! And the walk ways swayed in the breeze which was a bit disconcerting 😆Les mer

  • Brig Amity - Albany

    9. februar 2024, Australia ⋅ 🌬 24 °C

We took a trip to visit the Brig Amity in Albany. The first ship to bring convicts and settlers to WA to try and set up a colony!

It was fascinating being aboard at replica and trying to imagine 61 men living in such a small space for 6 weeks as they travelled from Sydney!

Lottie and Bella loved the treasure hunt and playing hide and seek below deck!!!

  • ANZAC Centre Albany

    10. februar 2024, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

The National ANZAC Centre was a really clever interactive display where you followed a specific individual through their life and roll within the Military.

As you went round there were lots of accounts to listen to from individuals that fought during WW1 and outside there were lots of other buildings to explore!

Lottie and Bella enjoyed playing on the big guns and even Dad had fun!!! Especially because one of them still has working mechanisms!

  • Albany Convict Gaol Museum

    21. februar 2024, Australia ⋅ 🌬 22 °C

A trip to the Old Gaol was fascinating. Full of ghost stories and tales of the convict lives of labourers that helped to build Albany!

The kids enjoyed sitting in the big hall and treating each other with general knowledge questions!!

Oh and locking each other in the cell 9; aka. The black hole! ⚫️ 😆

  • The Gap & Natural Bridge

    24. februar 2024, Australia ⋅ 🌬 20 °C

We drove out to Torndirrup National Park and had a look at 'The Gap' and 'Natural Bridge' - 2 interesting land formations on the coast line. (Very similar to the Great Ocean Road!)

Then we went for a walk to the Blowholes, although they weren't blowing today 😒

Then enjoyed a little treat at the Cafe!!! 🥰

  • Granite Skywalk & Castle Rock

    28. februar 2024, Australia ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

A very long hike up up up for little legs but the view at the top was worth it!

A 2.2km steep incline to reach Castle Rock and the viewing platform... The Granite Skywalk required some scrambling and climbing up big boulders, not to mention the ladder!!!!

Needless to say the kids enjoyed the walk back down more than the way up.... especially Bella who had to be pulled most of the way on this particular outing! 😳

  • Bremmer & Blossoms Bay

    1. mars 2024, Australia ⋅ ☁️ 21 °C

We spent a few days down in Bremmer and had the most amazing afternoon at Blossoms Bay!

The water was a bit too cold for me but the kids didn't seem to mind 🥶🤪

Tom and Chris enjoyed a fish at the Jetty whilst the girls had fun in the sand with their buckets and spades.Les mer

  • Hopetoun

    4. mars 2024, Australia ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

A couple of days in Hopetoun just south of Ravensthorpe and the kids and Chris enjoyed swimming out to the platform with the slide!

A nice little town but the weather wasn't great so one day at the beach was enough and we moved on towards Esperance 🤩Les mer

  • Esperance - Geocaching

    15. mars 2024, Australia ⋅ 🌬 21 °C

With not a huge amount to do in Esperance other than visit the beach (which isn't particularly pleasant in windy, cold, wet weather) we decided to try our hand at Geocaching....

Tom got particularly motivated and started looking for sites and we visited 3 or 4 which was great fun! Even having to return to one a second time to try again.... both he and Lottie found a cache (no longer classed as muggles!)Les mer

  • Esperance Beach - Bella

    17. mars 2024, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

I took Bella out for the morning to the Skatepark with Sasha and then we went to the beach for a fish and chip lunch!

Bella absolutely loved the skate board and mastering the pump track.... then on for a swim in the sea. She's such a free spirit in her own unique way!

Sunny but still pretty chilly in my assesment!!!!

  • Nullabor Crossing

    22. mars 2024, Australia ⋅ 🌬 22 °C

Our first day crossing the Nullabor got us just past Caiguna at a free camp. A long drive from Esperance via Norseman to fuel up and fill up water tanks before we started the 1200km trip, arriving after dark for day 1!

We managed the 90 mile straight with ease although not much hard edge to the road for passing trucks and the wind was blowing us around a fair bit but all in all not bad!

Day 2 we stopped at Eucla and then crossed the border, staying overnight the other side of the Nullabor Roadhouse at the Head of Bight Visitor Centre. No whales at this time of year so we gave it a miss but enjoyed the views from Bunda Cliffs of the Great Australian Bight as we travelled along that piece of coast line.

  • Smoky Bay

    24. mars 2024, Australia ⋅ 🌬 20 °C

After passing through the Ceduna Quarantine check point and giving up most of our veggies 🤦‍♀️ we entered the Eyre Peninsula and took a quick trip to have a look at Smoky Bay before heading on to a free camp just outside Haslam where Bella had fun making a birthday cake!!!! 🎂😆🎉

Next morning Lottie found her old Joey uniform and decided she was having a Scout morning.... she roped Bella in and they spent all morning packing for a hike (literally up around some trees ahead 😆) and I sent them off on a Scavenger hunt!!!!

So funny watching and listening to them both be 'Scouts' 🥰

  • Streaky Bay

    25. mars 2024, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

We arrived at Streaky Bay for a few nights to readjust to South Australia Time and catch our breath after the Nullabor!

Beaches are beautiful and the van park is right on the beach. No waves, just a little Cove and the wind makes it a little cold despite the fine weather 🥶

But the kids loved the jetty with a little swimming section where the kids could jump in!

    TOP SPOT! 💗🌟🥰
