Leroy leisure centre

After driving for about 7 hours i have finally found a place to set up camp for the night. Leroy leisure centre.

Now Leroy, Saskatchewan is the windiest place i have ever seen. It feels like the truck is going to lift off at times.

I am down here in the valley where the wind whips overhead of the protective trees. There is still a wonderful cooling breeze, it just not trying to blow me away.

After being in Calgary for a month, and then visiting with Patricia and her family for a couple of days, i am excited to be back on the road.

I feel very challenged to travel in the time of Covid, but i also feel lucky to be able to do what I am doing.

Heart Canyon, Canmore

Beautiful day in the mountains, the sun is shining and weather is beautiful. Lots of families out here. It is a pretty easy hike out to the canyons end.

I am 6 days away from leaving and i can't believe the time is already here.

Calgary has been really successful with my clients and my own personal growth, thanks in no small part to Cedric and Krisalyn's calming influence.

I am starting to get excited at the thought of leaving on my great adventure to Nicaragua.

Beautiful hike in the mountains of Alberta yesterday. A wonderful reminder of how nature endures despite all the madness in our world right now.

17 K hike up Alberta Mountain and around the back. The sun was shining and the air was clean what more can you ask for.

Decided to hike the last 3 Ks barefoot, all the little rocks had a different idea so the last K i wore a pair of wahachas, a rubber sandal built by the indigenous of south America.

I have arrived in Calgary and am getting ready to start treating clients. The drive here was amazing 3 nights in the mountains was exhilarating.

I am looking forward to spending the next month in Calgary and then off to my next adventure.

Findlay Creek Canal Flats

After driving to Radium and finding the hotsprings lined up for days i decided to find something else to do.

I ended driving to Fairmont, and what do you know i ended playing golf. What had started off as a pretty miserable day became amazing.

The golf was great, i played great and the people I played with were fun and friendly.

Then i made my way up to Skookemchuk to spend the night, a remote paradise in the wilderness beside Findlay Creek.

I had the whole place to myself. After a quick bath in the creek, i feel refreshed and energized and ready to take on the world.

Started off grey this morning, but the sun has broken through. Now off to Radium and soak in the hot springs.

I had a little malfunction with my fly net last night, but it was too cold for the buggers anyway.

Golden by the river

Day 2 done time to set up for the night.

I found a place just outside of Golden and right next to a roaring river (looks like the bank is wearing away, hopefully not during my night).

It is truly beautiful here in the heart of the mountains with big trees surrounding me.

It was a pretty long day again about time to shut down.

Though saw a bear and tried to fight it but it was too scared and kept eating its grubs.

Little guy has been a faithful companion keeping me company the whole way.

I look forward to waking up in the morning beside such a natural wonder...Lue lisää

Summerland Crump camp

I ended up spending the night up in the hills behind Summerland BC. It was amazing quiet and isolated.

I got up first thing this morning and washed in the river a little bit of a hike but worth it.

I have never felt so clean. It is as if the river washed the off world all my worries and stress. Then i sat down and wrote for a good hour and a half! Who knew I had so much to say.

Time to go charge my phone and get the day started on my way to Golden next....Lue lisää

Though hunts down a meal

I find myself in Hope, a small village in the heart of the mountains. The locals seem friendly, but I am prepared for anything.

I need some meat, after my sea voyage I need to rebuild my strength.

My Goodship has served me well thus far, and I trust her to take me the rest of the way.

I recognize a fellow traveler and he seems ready for battle.

Step 1

The beginning of a great adventure. I left Victoria today June 17th 2021, at 1pm. This is first baby step on an epic journey. Travel to Calgary, treat clients, then on to Edmonton to visit family, and then right across the country to Nova Scotia for my sisters wedding. Then its goodbye to Canada and my travels South begin. To finally end up in Nicaragua with stops to treat, and adventures along the way.

My sister Patricia suggested that I grow a beard and long hair and take a viking approach to the whole thing. I am forging my way across the Americas, I am looking for name suggestions, I am going with Though the god of poorly thought out decisions. But am open to suggestions.

So I loaded up the Goodship Icantbelieveitallfit, and I set out into the great unknown. After fighting my way through the wilds of Victoria, I made my way to the great water, and boarded a long boat to take me to the distant shore.

The gods were smiling on me and we encountered no foul sea beasts, but my fellow crew were strange and foreign with weird growths attached to their hands and ears.

We reached shore, my faithfull companion (little guy) and I. Now we find ourselves in the great mountains of the coast.
