Stretch #3: Lulea - Norway

Last and final stretch. After a long day on the road the day before we did the math and realized that the only choice for the next day is to get up early! So we let the hotel reception now that we take the breakfast to go at 6:00a, set the alarm to a cringing time and went to bed quickly…we got up and going. Janine’s phone was „lost“ for about 15 minutes, then we could go. 9:30 hrs of driving ahead of us, unknown road conditions but with respect of what is to come. One Blitzer in Sweden got us, the signs that announce it were covered in snow ❄️🤷🏼‍♂️
The trip was extreme and full of so many different faces. Between darkness, frozen temperatures, fog and icey roads there was a sense of reaching the „end“ of the world somewhere soon. Sometimes the periods between seeing other cars were quite long. Scary the thought that if something happens out there to the car, it will be hours by the time help arrives…not sure pictures capture it well, but we tried. Christopher drove the entire time, some parts of the drive were nerve-wrecking to both of us. The kids didn’t care, the boys enjoyed peeing in the snow ❄️🤦🏼‍♂️😂Read more
