• Wine Tasting and Dinner

    June 9, 2024 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 68 °F

🍷🍇 At the end of the day, we made a quick pit stop at Glades Pike Winery for a tasting before dinner. We swirled, sipped, and pretended to know what "hints of oak" meant. We had no clue, but maybe that’s because only one wine was actually “oaky!” Guess we're just better at finding "hints of grape." 😜🍷

Dinner at Out of the Fire Cafe started off with a bang! Our appetizer, Local Putnam Farms Grilled Asparagus, was so good it nearly made us switch to a veggie-only diet. (Don’t worry, that wild idea lasted about five minutes.) 🌱😋

Beth had the Chargrilled Jail Island Salmon while Don munched on the Australian Wagyu Double Smash Burger. These were also delicious, but the asparagus was the award winner for the night! Who knew asparagus could outshine Wagyu beef?

We uncorked a bottle of “Crooked Path” from Paso Robles to wash our food down. It was so perfect with our meal that we briefly considered renaming ourselves the Crooked Path Wine Fan Club. 🍷👏

Dessert was a flourless chocolate cake with strawberry drizzle that was just the right size to share. By "share," I mean we each took tiny bites while secretly planning how to claim the last piece. 🍫🍓😆

An evening filled with delicious food, fun moments, and wine-induced wisdom. Here's to our next adventure—may our wine be less oaky and our asparagus always be this amazing! 🍷✨
