Starving and wandering in Canada, we stumbled upon a gem of a place serving Peruvian cuisine. Neither of us had tried Peruvian food before, so we were ready for a culinary adventure.

For drinks, we ventured into uncharted territory. Beth ordered a Chilcano Maracuya Pisco, which was sweet and delightful, while Don went for a Latina Beer—light enough that even Beth would enjoy it! That's saying something.

Our appetizer was beef empanadas, a familiar dish with a twist: they were sprinkled with powdered sugar and served with lime. Who knew sweet and tangy could make empanadas even better?

The main courses were Aji de Gallina and Lomo Saltado. Yes, they were heavy on the carbs, but oh-so-delicious! The Aji de Gallina stole the show with its tantalizing, flavor-packed shredded chicken in creamy yellow pepper sauce. It deserves an award!

For dessert, we had a vanilla ice cream affogato, featuring a shot of espresso made from Colombian coffee beans. Fabulous! Our waiter, a sweet gentleman from Colombia, made it even better with his charm.

We hit the jackpot with this restaurant! The owner/chef visited our table several times, sharing his success story and giving us a taste of Alba (a Baileys-like liquor) and Sapaq (Pisco) on the house. He even spilled the secrets of his "Fork You Pisco Sours." Definitely a highlight of our day!

And lastly, about that pay phone—Don's too cheap to pay for roaming, so Beth had to use it. We still have no clue why it was there, but it saved the day!
