Kingsford Smith Airport

It’s been a long since I went back to Bali properly and this will be hopefully be a life changer.
A new home… for now

Landed last night and greeted with shots of Arak and bakso. It was strange to see my cousin suddenly 15 years older.
This morning I see Bali again in the light.
Homecoming

My favourite fruit Salak, the snake-skinned fruit
Becoming a local again.

It’s been a very long time since I was a “local” and it will probably take some time still.
I found a little warung close by run by a lonely old woman. It’s simple but it’s my first placeOkumaya devam et
Night markets

Dinner at the Sanur night markets. Enjoying the lack of tourists although I do hope Bali can recover soon.
Bakso and sate ayam, so good.
Rediscovering Sanur

Cycling along Sanur beach, rediscovering this area and happy to see that it’s nice and clean. The pathway is being updated and should be quite nice in the next few months.
Going to Nusa Lembongan

With very little planning required i decided to go to Nusa Lembongan for the first time. First step, book a fast boat from Sanur.
Pantai putih

Stumbled across the white sand beach exploring the island. Beautiful but a lot of debris and plastics.
Finding Art

Surprised to find such great art on such small islands.
The blue lagoon

These islands are so small that you can travel around easily in less than a day.
The blue lagoon is a beautiful spot.
Sunset at Dream Beach

Beautiful view over the channel

Nice and quiet view of the channel between Lembongan and ceningan
The devils tears

Returning to Sanur

I loved this place. I will return.
Galungan

My first Galungan in Bali.
Dinner in Jimbaran

This is a must do for any visitor to Bali. Sitting on the beach for a seafood dinner at Jimbaran is always good.
On the way to Ubud

Bali now has a public transport system, of sorts, and it’s free! Nice and clean but the total trip took quite a while… but it’s free!
Ubud

It was really rainy but wandering the narrow streets it’s still full of culture and art.
Local’s night market

Unplanned and under appreciated, this is where you’re guaranteed to get authentic Indonesian and Balinese food. Delicious!
Ubud day 2

Today was a day of art and Ubud never disappoints. Neka Gallery is definitely recommended.
Night markets in Sanur

Night markets are the way to go for local food. Finding local Warungs are a good bet too but be tricky to know the bests ones.
Dawn in Sanur

Catching dawn on Sanur beach.
Kintamani

Overnight glamping in a live volcano. Beautiful and a little surreal.
Canggu and Pererenan Beach

Spent the day exploring Canggu and Pererenan Beach. Ten years ago this was all rice fields (protected) but the expats have completely taken over. Interesting but sad.
GWK

My second time coming to Garuda Wisnu Kencana. Still as impressive as always.
