Transit to Wilpena Pound SA

Today was an early start. Having already fueled up, we set off about 8 am.
1 stop: Yunta for coffee and cake after being pulled into the quarantine station for inspection of our caravan. Fortunately, they didn't need to confiscate anything from us.
2nd stop: Peterborough. We shopped and then stopped at a lille cafe for lunch. Fabulous lamb gyros.
Finally arriving at Wilpena Pond about 5pm. With the last 55km at between 20 and 30km p/h.
There was an unbelievable amount of Kangaroos on the verge and in the middle of the road.
Note to self..... always plan arrivl by 3.30pm.
Although a very slow drive, both cars with Kelly & Mike and Eric & i arrive safely with no damage to us or the wildlife.
After setting up for the next 5 nights, we sat and relaxed with a quick dinner and a few reds. 🍷.Read more
