    Sleeper Train and Torridon!

    February 26, 2025 in England ⋅ ⛅ 5 °C

Evening train from Euston to Inverness. What an experience! Had our cute little bunk bed cabin and haggis neeps and tatties for tea (first time), w a Scottish g&t yum. Was so lovely sleeping on a train the gentle rocking making me sleep like a baby! 7am brekky on the train with the stunning views of mountainous countryside what a way to wake up. Land at Loch Torridon after one of the drivers getting a flat what a nightmare but so so beautiful. Unfort had to remote work a bunch then headed to dinner yummy catch of the day!Read more

  • Mega Hike

    February 28, 2025 in Scotland ⋅ ☁️ 4 °C

Set off for a mega hike up Beinn Alligin w the whole gang and the scenes were crazy. What a place. The peaks and ridges were so impressive. And clocked so much colourful lichen (the algae/moss stuff that sits on rocks) with beautiful patterns and shades looked so magic and cool. Reached the cairn(pile of hikers rocks) and the weather started getting a bit bleak and windy. Had a sammie stop I had tuna and we ended up having many whiskey stops along the way back (a family cask brewed whiskey - Uskey Meckin) Cozy dinner by fireplace after and some of the best dinner I’ve ever had. The pengest trout and roe tart w a posh cheese and onion pie bite, scallops to die for, and dank melty steak w onion done in a hundred different ways. Luis the legend bartender tested us all w mad strong whiskeys and I tested him to make a cherry amaretto sour and he smashed it. What a day.Read more
