It means feeling good. In particular: the banana represents the smile of a person who is happy, the potato would instead be associated with vitality and the peach is a symbol of vitality and good health in the Chinese tradition

It was really nice to find out French people love Italians. At our first coffee bar, the employees welcomed us showing their Italian skills. It's always fun to see non Italian native people mimicking with an accent - and of course the first thing you learn about a language is how to swear. "Porca Miseria" was actually the funniest ice breaking ever, we laughed a lot and felt more relaxed

  • Flânerie is a term coined by Baudelaire which can be translated as “the art of losing oneself”, of wandering aimlessly in an attitude of constant wonder and surprise towards what happens in the world.

We're going to visit Paris with any plans, only following our sights
The elegance of this city is impressive, works of extraordinary architecture

Beautiful but also sad, as if the beauty of art had been mixed with a glorious, but not too happy past. It's like looking at a gorgeous woman, after she's cried all her tears out.

The capital of the Grande region, seat of the regional council of Grand Est and of the department of Bas-Rhin

๊œฑแด›ส€แด€๊œฑส™แดœส€ษข - whose Latin name means "city of the streets" - today has a German name as Alsace was under Alemannic rule until 1681

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ The coat of arms with a red transverse band on a white field is the result of the chromatic inversion of the coat of arms of the bishop of the city. This is due to the revolt of the citizens of Strasbourg in the Middle Ages against the ecclesiastical authority to affirm their independence from the prelate

Chez — doesn't have a specific translation. It means meeting someone at a place

I think this was the best part of this journey. My being introverted leads me more to observe than to be active and insert myself in a "loud" way in any context.
I found people who had to share a familiar moment with me, each of us with their own language, their own journey and their own story.
I wasn't afraid and this was new to me.
I placed the tables close together the tables on which they usually eat separately and a guy looks at me smiling and satisfied, saying "questa è la famiglia". It made me incredibly happy.

Yet borders are just pen strokes on a sheet of paper

A city divided in two, mirroring themselves in the same waters. Two languages, two dialects, two beliefs, deeply divided but with the same roots

It seems to look at two brothers who, after a fight, pretend they no longer have that bond

  • La Petite France

    November 20, 2024 in France โ‹… โ›… 6 ยฐC

Petite France is a historic district located on the Grande Île and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988
It takes its name from the so-called hospice des vérolés, built at the end of the 15th century to accommodate patients with venereal diseases contracted by mercenaries of the various kings of France during the Italian wars. This is how the inhabitants of the time began to call the area “Französel”, or “the little Frenchwoman”.

The half-timbered houses - colombages - with their characteristic exposed wooden frames were the homes of fishermen and hairdressers.

The district was completely damaged during the Second World War, at the end of which the city undertook a policy of faithful reconstruction

The Eiffel Tower wasn't exactly in my plans. I thought that, having seen it so many times online, it wouldn't be so impressive. I was wrong

Built with the thought of a temporary work, it was until 1980 the tallest building in the world and, until today, the building with the most replicas in the world.

♥๏ธ๐ŸŒน The elongated "A" shape of the tower would be a declaration of love to Adrienne Bourgès, the girl Eiffel wanted to marry when he was young and whom he met again many years later.
