Pompeii was amazing. I took way too many photos, as usual. Believe me when I say I also deleted hundreds! We had a very accomplished guide, but only got to see one plaster cast from the eruption.

After a 4 hour bus ride, I had a yummy pasta lunch, then toured the Colliseum with our guide, Luca.
ReisenderThere were probably 25,000 less people there than when you were there. It pays to go in November! Our guide said it was rare.

I walked a LOT today. Five miles total. My hotel is about a mile from the Vatican. Words cannot describe this beautiful masterpiece. So I won't even try.

ReisenderSadly, this was a photo covering the reconstruction going on behind the fence. The upcoming Jubilee has most major fountains covered in scaffolding for cleaning.
