    4 ноября 2024 г., Италия ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

Pompeii was amazing. I took way too many photos, as usual. Believe me when I say I also deleted hundreds! We had a very accomplished guide, but only got to see one plaster cast from the eruption.

Roman Baths and Brothels in Pompeii

    4 ноября 2024 г., Италия ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

Well, I learned a lot here. According to the guide, the Romans used lead pipes for their water system, which explains why they couldn't find bodies older than 36. 36% of the population were slaves and many of those were prostitutes, which was not looked down upon, and the brothels had both genders. The murals were basically a menu for a client to choose from. And the bed was stone!Читать далее

    Mama Shelter Hotel in Roma!

    7 ноября 2024 г., Италия ⋅ ☁️ 20 °C

This has to be the funkiest hotel I have ever seen. I loved the HUGE shower and bathroom (not the norm in Italy) and an actual sitting room, although the fabric patterns made me dizzy! I don't understand the Looney Toon masks on the lamps at all, but I loved the Do Not Disturb sign. Too bad it wasn't true for my stay 😂 It had a great restaurant and outdoor patio bar, too. I had a delicious seafood salad with grilled squid, octopus, and shrimp.Читать далее
