Pompeii was amazing. I took way too many photos, as usual. Believe me when I say I also deleted hundreds! We had a very accomplished guide, but only got to see one plaster cast from the eruption.

After a 4 hour bus ride, I had a yummy pasta lunch, then toured the Colliseum with our guide, Luca.

I walked a LOT today. Five miles total. My hotel is about a mile from the Vatican. Words cannot describe this beautiful masterpiece. So I won't even try.

ResenÀrSadly, this was a photo covering the reconstruction going on behind the fence. The upcoming Jubilee has most major fountains covered in scaffolding for cleaning.
