We have been wanting to see the polar bears at Chicago zoo for over 20 years. They have a viewing window of the pool. The bears (Siku and Talini) performed spectacularly well.

Albuquerque NM

We visited the Petroglyph National Monument just outside the city as well as the Old Town. All very Hispanic. Then watched the sunset at Sandia Crest.
Colorado Springs CO

Quite a long drive via Santa Fe and on into Colorado. After dinner we visited the Garden of the Gods with lots of red rocks.
Rocky Mountain NP

Spent several hours touring and walking in the park. Very hard to do it justice in only 6 photos. Exceptionally beautiful scenery and we saw elk, moose and marmots.

Three states in one day. From Wyoming, across Nebraska and into South Dakota. Saw our first wild buffalo in Wind Cave NP, then visited Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse.
Badlands NP

A hot day in the fantastic Badlands. We saw buffaloes, prairie dogs and bighorn sheep but spent most of our time gazing at the stunning rock formations.
Devils Tower WY

Set out early to avoid the heat of the day. Walked to Landscape and other arches. Then took a long siesta before returning in the evening to see more of the park.
