    Pedro everywhere. In different sizes, with different shirts, but with the same smile. Who would ever think about placing shops, restaurants, hod dog stands, fireworks sales and indoir reptile zoo on a green field right under a giant sightseeing tower with mexican hut on top?? Brilliant.

    Perdo stojí na každom kroku. Síce v rôznych veľkostiach, v rôznych košeliach ale za to vždy s robnakým úsmevom od ucha k uchu. Kto by čakal obrovské zoskupenie obchodov, reštík, stánkov s hod dogmi na zelenej lúke. Hlavne že pod vysokou vyhliadkovou vežou s mexickým klobúkom navrchu. Výborné!

    First steps in downtown are bringing us closer to some food and therefore to City market. A am proud of capturing the girl with great socks :)

    Prvé kroky v centre mesta nás vedú za jedlom a teda na City market. Obzvlášť som hrdá na to že som dokázala zachytiť skvelé ponožky okoloidúceho dievčaťa :)

    Bull street is connecting small square parks. The blocks have very unique architecture. And each park is full of trees, banches and squirrels.

    Savannah - @Waterfront

    We took historical steps to reach the waterfront. It surprised us with great view, well placed electricity plugs and with small streed with several bars and parks. The untipicaly detailed balkony is probably used only by not wanted guests..

    Po historických nebezpečných schodoch sme sa dostali na promenádu. Prekvapila nás úžasným výhladom, veľmi dobre umiestnenými elektrickými zástrčkami a malou dlhou uličkou s množstvom barov a parkov. Našlo sa aj veľmi netypické riešenie balkónu, ktorý je zjavne používaný len neželanými návštevami..    Okumaya devam et

    Savannah @The Talmadge Memorial Bridge

    The Talmadge Memorial Bridge is a bridge that spans the Savannah River with clearance of 185 feet (56m). On one riverbank Georgia, on the other South Carolina. It has been opened in 1991 when it replaced the historical bridge (from 1953) :)

    Most Talmadge premosťuje rieku Savannah River s preplavnou výškou 185 stôp čiže 56 metrov. Na jednej strane rieky sa nachádza Georgia, na tej druhej Južná Karolína. Mist bol otvorený v roku 1991 kedy nahradil historický most. (z roku 1953) :)    Okumaya devam et

    Edgard took me to see dolphins. Yes, we saw them. No, they are not at the photos. But, this is a bridge over the lagoon. Middle part has beautiful steel structure and CAN RORATE to let the ships pass!

    Edgard ma zobral pozrieť delfíny. Áno, videli sme ich. Nie, niesu na fotkách. Ale, toto je most ponad záliv. Jeho stredná časť pozostáva z bielej ocelovej konštrukcie ktorá JE OTÁČAVÁ aby umožnila preplav lodí!

    Charleston

    As our landlord told us, Charleston is the 2nd most visited city in the world. Well, we will never know if this is true, but we know for sure that it is cute. The city is known also for its french quarters and the market street which is like a living heart of the city all around the clock. What makes the city really unique are the gas lamps still actively used in the city during the night.

    Charleston je 2hé najnavštevovanejsie mesto na svete, podla našeho prenajímatela. V každom prípade asi nezistíme či to je pravda, ale pravdou je, že toto mestecko je veľmi milé. Je ynáme aj vďaka francúyskej štvrti a trhoviskovej ulici. Tá je ako srdce mesta a neustále búši energiou celźch 24 hodín. Jednoynačne jedna vec, ktorá robí toto mestečko unikátnym sú plynové lampy, ktoré dodnes žiaria počas noci na fasádach domov.    Okumaya devam et

    Audubon Swamp Garden

    The swamps (transformed at the Magnolia Plantation into rice fields) are home to alligators, turtles, snakes, birds, rabbits and thousands of insects. We were sweating like hell by walking around, but we were lucky to find some great creatures.
    By the way, fully green 5th photo shows an alligator... :D

    Bažiny ktoré boli na Magnóliovej plantáži premenené na ryžové polia sú domovom pre aligátory, korytnačky, hady, vtáky, zajace a množstvá hmyzu. My sme sa potili jak svet pri túre bažinami, ale mali sme šťastie a našli sme skvelé príšerky.
    Len tak medzi rečou, na 5tej fotke, ktorá je celá zelená, je aligátor... :D    Okumaya devam et

    As a contrast a place where the hard working people once lived? According to educational board, in a "living room" like this a family of 6 people was living. Today, the temperature outside was the same as inside, with 35 degrees and sun high in the sky it was hard only to imagine being working at a rice field..

    A ako kontrast tu je miesto kde bývali tí ťažko pracujúci ľudia? V tejto "obývačke" bývala rodina so žtimi členmi podľa náučnej tabule. Počas dnešného dňa bola teplota vonku rovnaká ako teplota vnútri. Pri 35tich stupňoch a slnkom páliacim výsoko na oblohe bolo ťažké si vôbec už len predstaviť prácu na ryžovom poli..     Magnolia Plantation - for privileged

    Magnolia Plantation, founded in 1676 by the Drayton family, is an impressive piece of land. A bit surprising was that the historical tour of the Plantation didn't really mention the slaves and the live at the plantation at the period when slavery was for family Drayton normal..
    At the other hand, pretty brilliant was the idea of the owner to start offering tours around his property to pay of his employees in the modern time after the end of slavery. (my really. simplified point of view. definitely worth of visiting)

    Magnóliová plantáž, založená v roku 1676 rodinou Draztonovcov, je veľmi obdivuhodný pozemok. Trochu prekvapujúce bolo, že skoro vôbec neboli otroci a to ako život na plantáži vyzeral počas vtedy keď otroctvo bolo pre rodinu Draztonovcov normálne.
    Na druhej strene musím uznať že nápad posledného dediča vyberať za prehliadky plantáže vstupné a transformovať ho na plat svojim zamestnancom v modernej dobe bez otroctva je v celku kreatívny prístup k zmene. (moje veľmi zjednodušené zhrnutie. stojí za to navštíviť)    Okumaya devam et

    Rainbow raw is a beautiful block of the city composed of colorful historic buildings. It is known to be the longest cluster of georgian houses in the US. When there were build, there were facing directly the riverfront of the Cooper river. Today, they stand one block away as the land was filled during the city development.

    Dúhový rad je nádherný blok mesta pozostávajúci z farebných domov. Je známy ako najdlhší reťazec gergianskych (kolonialnych) budov v US. V dobe keď boli postavené stáli tvárou tvár návdežiu riekz Cooper river. Dnes medzi nimi a riekov stojí celý blok budov na pôde, ktorá bola dosypaná počas vývoja mesta.    Okumaya devam et
