  • Taos Pueblo

    Over 1000 years old, Taos Pueblo is the one that best chose the traditional architecture of the Pueblo Indians. In this whole part of town, the inhabitant keep their traditional ways. No electricity or plumbing, but only 10 families still live here, most everyone has a modern house outside of the old town. I really enjoyed walking around, you can really imagine how life would’ve been in all those ruins I’ve been visiting over the past weeks.En savoir plus

  • Santa Fe & Co. - Spanish Heritage

    The Spanish or Mexican heritage is very tangible, starting with the predominant Adobe construction in Santa Fe, to the historical churches, the food with the chili everywhere, and a lot of Spanish speakers. In terms of art, more than objects from colonial times I saw religious/ devotional figurines and paintings of the Santero folk art. Santero means Saint-maker. Modern Santeros also critique society.En savoir plus

  • Great Sand Dunes to Royal Gorge

    The weather was great in the morning and then got progressively worse. I lucked out to get some sunshine for my main activities today: hiking in Great Sand Dunes National Park, a quick stop at the UFO Watchtower (aliens abducted a horse here in 1967) before a 2 hour drive across the vast San Luis Valley and down the stunning Arkansas River Valley brought me to Royal Gorge.En savoir plus
