    4 de enero de 2024, Estados Unidos ⋅ ☁️ 30 °F

We stopped at the rest area for breakfast. Had it been warmer, we would have enjoyed exploring the rocks. Duncan got back into the snow at the Whole Foods in Flagstaff where we used the gift card Sunshine received for volunteering at Gem & Jam in Tucson past Feb. We used our ASTC membership to explore Lowell Observatory before driving down Oak Canyon to Cottonwood.Leer más

  • Cave Creek respite

    6–11 ene. 2024, Estados Unidos ⋅ ☀️ 54 °F

We headed south to Sunshine's family house in Cave Creek ahead of the next snow storm. It was still a chilly week in the sun valley. We took advantage of the electric fireplace, oven, laundry, shower, and Wi-Fi. We watched a lot of permaculture courses which sometimes put us to sleep and planned for Skooliepalooza which used our acronym on their page. We also visited Sunshine's Grandma in Mesa, stopping at Desert Botanical Gardens and creating vision boards. Total 145 miles and $535.37Leer más

  • Skooliepalooza

    12–21 ene. 2024, Estados Unidos ⋅ ☀️ 55 °F

We had an amazing 10 days at Skooliepalooza despite some lack of sleep due to loud music in the middle of the night. Those that showed up at Wellness Camp were phenomenal and all our classes went well and we had great discussions! Sunshine led a nomad nutrition class creating 6 dishes in an hour for the potluck. ResoNate spun fire and briefly caught his hair on fire. Sunshine also won a great gift bag on her solar return. We look forward to our adventure to Escapar a la Baja with new friends to lead yoga there too. Total 162 miles and $136.84.Leer más

PhishFood was the flavor du jour. We met up with friends in the Walmart parking lot after fueling up and then caught up on Permaculture lessons. Total 133 miles and $141.33. • San Felipe Beach with new friends

    23–24 ene. 2024, Mexico ⋅ ☀️ 64 °F

It was a bit of adventure to get here, but we made it through border inspection, immigration, traffic, and 2 other military/police stops. We restocked at Calimex super mercado and took out MXN pesos. Our friends went to camp and we walked the Malecon and ate an OK meal at Rice & Beans. We followed the coordinates but arrived above the beach from our friends and had to walk back down to find how to drive to them. Total 141 miles and $241.12 for groceries, FMM and pesos.Leer más

  • Travel to Guerrero Negro

    24–25 ene. 2024, Mexico ⋅ 🌙 63 °F

We decided to head south with Brett and Judy today rather than waiting for other friends to leave San Felipe on Friday. It was a long day of slow driving but we took a couple of nice breaks including an amazing view with others from Skooliepalooza. We wanted to see the Pacific but ended up on fishing beach on harbor with little water at low tide. At least the sunset/moon rise was beautiful! Total 251 miles and $71.50 for gas and water.Leer más

  • Travel to Mulege

    25–26 ene. 2024, Mexico ⋅ ☀️ 66 °F

We took it a bit easier today, stopping at San Ignacio oasis and arriving to Mulege in time for lunch at Los Equipalaes. Brett and Judy saw friends from NM who joined us. We enjoyed full moon fire. We both were briefly stuck in the thick sand and earned our Baja badge. Total 184 miles and $25.88 for lunch.Leer más

  • Travel to Ciudad Constitucion/Comondu

    26–27 ene. 2024, Mexico ⋅ ☀️ 84 °F

It was another beautiful drive with the road hugging the Gulf of California for a ways. We stopped at the Pemex for showers (60 pesos but only a few minutes of hot water) and then went back to town. The map says Ciudad Constitucion but the receipts and sign says Comondu. We enjoyed Thai food and walking around the town and squares and restocked at the supermarket. We were back at Pemex for sunset. Total 184 miles and $192.72 for gas and food.Leer más
