    Tallinn is the capital city of Estonia situated on the coast of the Baltic Sea. It was established in the medieval ages and became a major trading port and member of the Hanseatic league. Like Riga, it gained independence after the fall of the Soviet Union. Estonia suffered greatly under communism and today, the people cherish their freedom. The Old Town is situated in the upper city and contains old Russian Orthodox and Lutheran churches as well as the offices of Parliament and Prime Minister.
