Aira Force

Our first stop this morning was a scenic hike to see Aira Force, a beautiful waterfall that feeds into the Ullswater. Aira Force derives its name from Old Norse. The original name "eyrr-á-fors" means "gravel bank - river - waterfall." So this is the waterfall on the river that leads to the gravel shores of the Ullswater.Leggi altro
