    Zion National Park

    From St Georges, UT, we drove to Zion National Park for the day and hiked the West Rim Trail. Since we didn’t know about the permit/lottery for Angels Landing, we didn’t go to that amazing destination. We feel very fortunate to have been there several times over the years.Read more

    My sister Véronique and her companion Jean-Marc met us in St Georges, UT for a day. We went for 2 short walks in Snow Canyon State Park: Jenny’s Canyon and Lava Flow. It was fun!

    After getting advice at the visitor center, we decided to hike Buckhorn Trail, Castle Bridge Trail and finished the day on Pink Ledges Trail. The scenery was spectacular: snow on the mountains in the direction of Cedar Breaks and unique red rock formations.Read more

  • Fairyland trail (Bryce)

    It’s cold! After a restful night in Panguitch, we hiked the Fairyland Trail in Bryce Canyon National Park. Amazing views, no crowd and some snow flakes towards the end of the day. Then, we drove the Scenic Byway 12 (also called the Million Dollar Highway) through Escalante, Boulder and finally Torrey. Again, it’s cold!Read more

  • Ferns Nipple (Capitol Reef)

    This morning, we were surprised by the long wait at the Visitor’s Center of Capitol Reef National Park. Since we’ve done many hikes in this beautiful park, Dave did some research :) We decided to do the challenging Ferns Nipple trail. We didn’t make it to the top but we were close.Read more

    After parking our car by the Fremont River, we hitchhiked and got a ride to Chimney Rock, the starting point of our long hike. Weather conditions were perfect for hiking the Lower Spring Canyon trail.

    After a quick early dinner in Torrey, UT, we took a short drive to a little known rock art wall on a non paved and sandy road. Unfortunately, petroglyphs have been vandalized with graffiti but it is still a rewarding sight.Read more

  • Little Wild Horse Canyon

    The Little Wild Horse Canyon is a beautiful and popular slot canyon located in the San Rafael Swell. We made a loop by exploring the Bell Canyon to get back to the parking lot.

  • Hickman Bridge & flowers

    Since driving through the San Rafael Swell seemed challenging and difficult with our car, we headed back to Capitol Reef National Park for a nice hike to Hickman Bridge and to the view point on the Navajo Knob trail. A lot of flowers!Read more

  • Bryce Canyon National Park

    We took a shuttle to Bryce Point and hiked Peekaboo, Queen Garden and Navajo trail to finish at Sunrise Point. It was easy and fast to catch a shuttle back from Bryce Lodge to our car parked at the entrance of the park.Read more
