I sit here in a rocking chair watching folks tearing up and down the street heading too one of two places marijuana hut or liquor store . They come back down the road with a bag of grass or case of pabst blue ribbon with them. I didn't even know they still made pabst blue ribbon beer. The mountain looks a whole lot grander from the south side here. Free the spirit and body will follow seems to b motto here . I must b getting old because this all seems to b a waste of good brain cells that may b required later in life . Tomorrow i will ride the train to hurricane and back always wanted to take a train ride .Read more

I know I earned my sign on this because I should have known better, but for all of us out their that do not have a lot of experience cooking I will give u my best piece of advice, do not under any circumstances pour water into a hot pan of bacon grease with the intent of making it easier to clean it will quickly become an epic failure when said grease erupts like a volcano and your flight instincts kick in and u turn loose of said pan of grease that will bounce off of the stove and turn a bad situation into a much worse one, then after much wound licking u will have to clean up a mess much larger and time consuming than the time saving thought u had of pouring water into a hot pan of grease to make clean up much easier. Epic fail number one for ChrisRead more

  • A walk in the woods

    May 27, 2018 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 61 °F

Walked the centennial trail and connectors in kenai national wildlife Refuge this morning, a blue bird day again, The trail always seems to go up hill, people always ask what’s in my pack, my gun, extra clothes in dry bag, food, fire starter, water filter, hatchet, mosquito net, and my chair and bible , people can’t believe I carry a chair up hill both ways but Alaska is a swamp and if u would like to rest or read, u stand or sit on wet ground, I’m not a fan of either of those . Happy memorial weekend to all.Read more

  • Moma moose in yard

This cow moose has been in around the cabin all day, in the past there would b several show up and have their little ones right here around the cabin, it’s pretty thick and few people around help to keep bears away so she feels safe, I expect we will see a little bundle of clumsiness with her in next few days.Read more

    May 29, 2018 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 54 °F

This will be the last post from Alaska, I have had all the fun I can have by myself, so I am going back to Georgia on Thursday, I always had Mary Beth to share it all with and without her it is not the same so I will have to return home and wait until we can return together, I always thought it was Alaska that truly made me happy but have come to learn Mary Beth had more to do with it than Alaska. I hope u have enjoyed the pics and words. So long from Alaska. ChrisRead more
