    This place was a weird little "hole in the wall" type of place. Today has been cool and rainy and their special was hamburger vegetable soup with a grilled bacon and cheese sandwich which sounded like the perfect thing for a rainy day.Les mer

    Leave it to us to go to a Police Station intentionally on vacation. The whole reason Matthew wanted us to come here was so he could see this famous duck, known as the Duck of Justice. QUACK.

    Chipotle

    Having never eaten at a Chipotle before, I asked for a minute to look over the menu signs. We eventually ordered and when we went to pay for our food they told us it was on the house since it was our first time. How nice of them! Overall the staff was super friendly and the restaurant was super clean. I was really impressed by the food too. I walked in thinking it's similar to Taco Del Mar back home... but let me tell you- this is way, WAY better than Taco Del Mar. We need a Chipotle in Edmonton! Are they in Canada anywhere at all? I may need to Google this later.Les mer

    That bathroom. Wow.

    Put it this way, American Standard made these blue bathroom fixtures in the 1930s. The color is called Clair De Lune Blue. This hotel feels just as vintage as the bed and breakfasts we were staying in earlier.

    Frankly I'm shocked the phone in here isn't rotary dial.

    Bed is actually quite comfy though. Slept really good last night and enjoyed a good breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage and toast.    Les mer

    Mount Battie Camden Hills State Park

    Pictures absolutely don't do it justice. This place was beautiful and peaceful and I could have spent the rest of the afternoon just sitting on a rock looking out at he harbor below.

    I went and sat on a rock for a bit and I just felt this sense of peace that I haven't felt on a long time. The last time I felt this way was when I was in Mexico with an injured back. I couldn't sleep in because my back would hurt in the bed so I was up really early every morning when everyone else was still sleeping. I would sit outside and snack on fresh fruit and listen to the sounds of nature while working on a sudoku. In that moment I felt no stress. None. That's how I felt today too.Les mer

    I really liked this place. Pretty, clean, friendly people and they do extra little touches like movie nights with free popcorn and campfire nights with smores. You really feel comfortable and at home the moment you walk in.

    Breakfast was a choice of Mexican egg wraps, fruit salad, french toast and muffins. Very tasty. O had the egg wrap and a bit of fruit salad and took a blueberry muffin for the road.    Les mer

    The Chocolate Museum

    Yummmmmy.

    Well, we are back in Canada! We batted our eyes at the border guys and they opened up New Brunswick for us. (Lol)

    Ok- about the chocolate museum. This museum is in the old original Ganong Chocolate factory. We learned about chocolate and the history of the multi generation family run chocolate company. We learned that they were the first to sell chocolates in heart shaped boxes, which was originally for Christmas but then foind or was better suited for Valentine's day. They also are the ones who invented a candy called chicken bones which I remember from childhood. If you've never heard of them, it's a pink cinnamon candy with a chocolate centre.

    The samples were flowing freely today and I left with a belly full of chocolate. I'm just going to call this stop "lunch". Lol    Les mer

    Omg. So much food. There was also miso soup and a salad that came with all this. I think I need a crane to get me out of here now. I'm so full. The food here was delicious and the service was great.

    B&B Homeport est. 1858

    This place is actually 2 houses originally built together by and owned individually by a couple of brothers. Today the houses are joined together by an addition which is now the lobby of the B&B. The rooms are really spacious. Ours had a separate sitting room even. Cute bathroom with old style tub and really nice bathroom amenities. The view from the property was pretty too! I have split this into 2 posts so I can share a few more photos.Les mer
