  • The Cats of Mykonos

    October 1, 2025 in Greece ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

Mykonos has a secret population that rules the alleyways: the beautiful, chilled-out cats! They are everywhere and so friendly. Just a perfect little detail that adds to the charm of the Greek islands. If you need me, I'll be sitting on a stoop making friends with this one! 😻
Fun Fact: Stray cats are a beloved fixture of life in Greece! They are often looked after and fed by local residents and organizations and are considered part of the islands' cultural landscape.

Found the perfect, historic spot for a snack! We stopped at Gioras Wood Medieval Mykonian Bakery, which is famous for a reason. Had to try their traditional Greek baklava, and it was buttery, nutty, and perfectly sweet. Delicious! 🍯

  • Cruise Day 6 - Piraeus/Athens

    October 2, 2025 in Greece ⋅ ☁️ 19 °C

Rain, rain, go away! Our day in Athens was a bit damp, but thankfully our tour bus kept us cozy. Even a quick glimpse of the Acropolis through a rainy window was enough to feel the weight of history! The highlight (besides the bus) was getting to try some seriously incredible freshly made Greek yogurt. It was worth getting a little wet for the experience! ☔️

*Off ship photos split into separate post

Fun Fact: The Acropolis sits on a massive limestone hill that rises 490 feet above the city of Athens, making it visible from almost anywhere—even from a moving bus on a rainy day!

  • Cruise Day 7 - Katakolo /Olympia

    October 3, 2025 in Greece ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C

We had such a fun, easy day in Katakolo! Wandering the shops for souvenirs was a success, but the real highlight was hopping on that little tourist train. It took us on a charming loop, giving us a glimpse of a local vineyard and a serene Greek beach. Sometimes the simplest adventures are the best! 🍇🚂

**Land photos posted separately due to app limitations.

Fun Fact: Greece is one of the oldest wine-producing regions in the world! Grapes have been cultivated here for thousands of years, and the tradition of winemaking runs deep in places like the Peloponnese region, where Katakolo is located.

  • Cruise Day 8

    October 4, 2025, Ionian Sea ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C

Woke up late, feeling totally refreshed! I swear the rocking of the ship combined with these cozy beds makes for the best sleep on the planet. 😴 We’re just enjoying the sunny, clear skies and the pure relaxation of our final day at sea. It’s hard to beat this cruise life!
Fun Fact: Though the gentle rocking lulls you to sleep, large cruise ships use massive underwater "stabilizers" that are deployed to cut down the side-to-side motion of the ship, preventing it from rocking too much!

  • Cruise Day 9 - Naples/Pompeii

    October 5, 2025 in Italy ⋅ ☁️ 17 °C

Talk about dedication! We docked in Naples, and it was absolutely pouring rain for our tour of Pompeii. We were soaked to the bone, but nothing could stop us! This was a total bucket list item we missed on our last Italy trip, and it was worth every single drop of rain. The determination was real! We also stopped at a place that makes jewelery out of hand carved seashells. Pictures for today split across multiple posts because it seems I took a LOT of photos today.
Fun Fact: When Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD, it buried Pompeii and its residents under volcanic ash and pumice stone, which perfectly preserved the city for centuries, allowing us to walk the streets today!

  • We Got Kicked off the Ship! 😡

    October 6, 2025 in Italy ⋅ ☀️ 16 °C

We were unfairly kicked off the ship this morning. So rude! They kept calling it "debarkation" and saying truly offensive things like "the cruise is over" and "you have to go now." 😭 I tried to hide in the buffet, but alas, our amazing time on the water have come to an end. Now for the long trip home! 💔Read more
