Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore

Now we finally have a chance to see the cathedral we climbed up close. Looking up at the art inside the dome from the ground really makes you appreciate how far we climbed up because you really cannot appreciate as much of the detail on the art from down here. The cathedral was still amazing to see inside. It’s pretty wild to think how much history happened here hundreds of years ago, especially that of the Medici family, that was so consequential then and today unknown to, or possibly indifferent to, many of the visitors of this magnificent building.
