South for the Winter

Snowbirds baby! Heading purposefully south from snowy Alberta to an as yet unknown destination 💕 Les mer
  • Southampton NB

    1.–2. jun. 2024, Canada ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

Cool boondocking location at an abandoned rest stop on the old Transcanada. Private, quiet (after the Saturday night quads went home), dark and close to the main highway. Great spot in my eyes! Not scenic…but how many times can we park next to a river, lake or ocean and still call it special? 🤣 (So many times! And still special)Les mer

  • du Lac Joly QC

    3.–4. jun. 2024, Canada ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

Just a stopover on the way to Ontario. Cute little campground off the beaten path with a bunch of full timers. They were surprised to see us haha I’m sure not many people stop for a night. We are off to Montreal again today for 2 nights of boondocking while we ride the river trails! No pics here so far but might add later…Les mer

  • Verdun QC 2.0

    4.–5. jun. 2024, Canada ⋅ ☁️ 31 °C

We decided another bike ride through Verdun was in order! Saw some new things, spend most of our time either on a small portion of the 350km of bike paths or navigating ridiculous construction. I will try to post a video of that shenanigans but will for sure on Instagram if it doesn’t work here. Great sleep at Agrignon Park and 20 kms on the bikes in 30+ temps 🥵 so fun though 🥰Les mer

  • Cornwall Ontario

    5.–6. jun. 2024, Canada ⋅ ☁️ 26 °C

Made it to Ontario finally! Found a boat launch on the River for a walk, lots of geese and a good nights sleep. We are dying of the heat but it looks like it’s going to cool off a bit over the next week or so. We are happy and relaxed and looking forward to a ride through my old stomping grounds soon!Les mer

  • Perth Ontario

    6.–7. jun. 2024, Canada ⋅ 🌧 20 °C

Cute town, lovely sleep spot, free showers and wifi…all next to a river. 💕 Our journey is not for everyone. We don’t post all of our experiences. I want to remember them how I remember them…not just how I wrote them down in the moment. The photos help though!Les mer

  • Etobicoke Ontario

    8. juni 2024, Canada ⋅ ☁️ 21 °C

A visit to some of the houses I grew up in, parks I played in and schools I attended. Fun to see the old neighbourhood and imagine how all the trees looked 45 years ago 😆
Good to see Apache Burger was still open…it’s doomed to make space for condos but you’re in luck Hugh if you want to grab one while you’re here! *pictures to come…they are on Clem’s phone lolLes mer

  • Sarnia Ontario

    8.–9. jul. 2024, Canada ⋅ ☁️ 29 °C

A great boondock in Sarnia Ontario. We immediately went to sit on the sea wall and dunk our feet in Lake Huron….a few minutes later a beauty yacht sailed by and drenched us multiple times with its wake. 32 degrees but I’m cool now! 😂

We are on our way west again almost one full year after moving into the box truck. It seemed to go by at a reasonable pace…now it seems like a blink of an eye since we left Burlington in July 2023. Sigh.

  • The ride back to Alberta

    21.–24. aug. 2024, Canada ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

On our way back to Alberta after almost 10 months away. ♥️

Stopped in Virden Manitoba, Moose Jaw Saskatchewan and Medicine Hat Alberta. Took our time and enjoyed the views. The mountains were a welcome view after so long away! The photo represents the km travelled from the beginning of our Clem and Pearl adventure to the odometer reading as we were driving by Okotoks Alberta on the #7.Les mer

  • Millarville Alberta

    24.–27. aug. 2024, Canada ⋅ 🌬 19 °C

Back at the Millarville Campground for a few nights! Memories of being here last year was truly nostalgic! The only Campspot available for the Rodeo Weekend just happens to be #16. The same one we stayed in for a couple weeks last summer before moving on to a different campground. The video is the tree (and last years picture of it) that reminded us we had been there before….Les mer

  • The End of a Journey

    1. september 2024, Canada ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

I suppose we will call this the end of a journey…back in Okotoks where we left from 10 months ago. Our home on wheels did well for us! We were safe, warm, comfortable, mobile and free ♥️ I wouldn’t trade our time on the road for anything! Ups and downs are a part of life and we were living ours. It wasn’t a vacation, it is a way of life. We visited so many people and saw things I never imagined we would. I mean - we lived on the beach! I look forward to many more years of living this way but only time will tell. For now, Fern is packed away for the winter while we embark on a different adventure in a different home on wheels. Stay tuned!
Photos are a few of our favourites since returning to Alberta.
