What a great stay on a beautiful farm! Joel and Sierra (along with a niece, 4 nephews, 4 goats, 4 horses, 2 dogs, some cats and an Audrey) were amazing hosts! Thanks for the outings, the time with the kiddos, the horse barn shower, the peace and quiet, the assistance while we were sick đŸ€’ and the delicious vegan meals. Love you and miss you! Can’t wait to see you all again soon. xoLĂ€s mer

Heading north towards Montreal now. Seen many states, low bridges and tunnels, farm stores, ancient barns, small towns, 1700/1800’s architecture, Amish farmers, Quaker country and so much more! What a drive. Take the slow road…skip the interstates…it’s soooo much better. Thoroughly enjoyed the Hudson Valley! Poughkeepsie, Hudson, Athens, Hyde Park and many many more, all easily accessible to NYC by car or train. The architecture and way of life is so old and slow. In a good way lol.
Had coffee and a snack from the Poughkeepsie Grind and ate at a cute little place in Hudson called Kitty’s. Not a single Walmart or Dollar General the entire ride. There must be some, but none that ever tarnished the landscape of the quaint little towns. Highly recommend! Spent our last 3 nights in the US in Plattsburgh NY. Tomorrow we are back in Canada baby!

Back in Verdun! For Ron anyway…it’s been 37 years since he’s been back to where he spend his childhood (up to 13 years old). Lots of memories for him! Nostalgia and old stomping grounds. Parks, schools, homes, friends, memories, tragedies, and more. 💕 Too many feelings and experiences to put into words really. I’m just glad I got to experience it with him. 15 miles on the e-bikes and we can’t wait to do it again on our trip back west.LĂ€s mer

Went to Varennes on the way to our next overnight to find Ron’s fathers last home after searching for his gravesite. No luck on the gravesite but he is sure we found the stretch of street where the home was. The house is gone but there’s a new one in its place. More memories 💕
We stayed two nights at a KOA near the City and just relaxed and watched hours of videos we took on our bike tour. Heading towards PEI now! (Pictures to come…)

A Harvest Host, two Walmarts, a trail head and some campgrounds filled our days and nights here! Lots of rain, wind, cold temps and the occasional sunny moment. We are looking forward to PEI where we will be back at the beach! Atlantic Ocean this time. Also looking forward to shopping some local artisans and lots of potatoes. đŸ„”LĂ€s mer

    13–16 maj 2024, Kanada ⋅ ☀ 14 °C

What a beautiful place this is! Water, friendly people, lobster in abundance, sunsets, beaches, interesting architecture and so much more. We slept in the parking lot at a fish house and other than the 6am start of trucks and skidsteers it was a great sleep next to the North Atlantic. 💕
    Can’t wait to continue exploring!

    14 maj 2024, Kanada ⋅ ☁ 13 °C

After 3 attempts to visit a beach we finally found an accessible one! The others either turned from dirt road to a path or had construction on the access road. So we kept looking and found this one! Lovely spot with soft red sand, low tide and cliffs in view. Quite a bit cooler on that side of the island. We didn’t take many photos but we sure enjoyed our time in the sun at the sea. đŸïžLĂ€s mer

  • Alberton and Milligan Wharf PEI

    14–15 maj 2024, Kanada ⋅ ☀ 15 °C

Visited a cute town called Alberton for coffee and a visit to the old train station that is now a library. We were going to stay the night there but the parking was tilted and minimal so we moved on to a fishing boat launch about 30 minutes away.
The parking lot here was large and empty. After a very quiet night, and next to no cell service which made it extra quiet, I woke up at 6:15 to dozens of trucks and trailers on the lot đŸ€Ł busy place! Boondocking in PEI is proving to be successful!

Went to the beach here and enjoyed lunch seaside!
None of the tourist stuff is open yet but it was fun to see it all waiting for the people. Go carts, roller coasters, shops, restaurants, and so much more. Finally found a campground open so we can clean up and power up. Tomorrow, on to the next road trip adventure around the south/east side of the island!LĂ€s mer

  • Souris PEI

    17–18 maj 2024, Kanada ⋅ ☀ 13 °C

Decided to stay put in Souris for the afternoon. Found this parking lot next to the lighthouse and it was too good not to enjoy it. Also, the bikes are coming off as a ride on the Confederation Trail is long overdue 💕 The lighthouse visit was the highlight for sure! Sea glass and sand form all over the world is displayed in the little museum. Sea artifacts of all kinds and 3 levels to explore. The ladder stairs were a bit much but we did it!LĂ€s mer

  • Borden PEI

    19–21 maj 2024, Kanada ⋅ ☁ 11 °C

Just arrived at the camp spot for the next couple nights. We are 100ft from the Confederation Trail so a bike ride is in our future! EDIT: bike ride was amazing as usual. Views in abundance and big blue sky. The potatoes fields up close and we can see the bridge from here. It’s impressive from a distance even if it’s a bit blah when you’re on it.
Plus, charging devices, laundry and showers of course…😆 that’s what campgrounds are for.

Drove over the 10km bridge from PEI and found this cute view right next to a gravel parking lot so we decided to stay! 💕 Not much here in the Village but the pharmacy is also the grocery, hardware, office supply and dollar store! Multitasking at its finest. Amazingly I found something I’d been searching for since Oklahoma so pretty happy I stopped in đŸ€ŁLĂ€s mer

Spent a night nearby in Masstown at the Masstown Market and made our way here today as we are meeting up with the Bailey’s soon! They are travelling on a train from Vancouver đŸ€Ż (Kathy, Matt, Karla, Emma, Sophia and Karla’s mom Sandra) Apparently it was a tight squeeze on the train! Time to relax for a few days. We have been moving daily for weeks it seems. We will head to the downtown core to meet up with Kathy and the gang on Monday. ♥
I feel like the “trip” is coming to an end. Once we start heading west it’s as though we are going home. I’d really hoped to shake the feeling that anywhere other than where I am is home, but until we are settled somewhere….I guess we aren’t home yet.LĂ€s mer

Finally get to see the Baileys and especially the twins! Stopped at the shipping yards for a couple hours to relax then moved downtown to be near the family’s hotel. It’s noisy but we will be on the road again soon enough, enjoying some peaceful stops along the way.LĂ€s mer
