South for the Winter

Heading north towards Montreal now. Seen many states, low bridges and tunnels, farm stores, ancient barns, small towns, 1700/1800’s architecture, Amish farmers, Quaker country and so much more! What a drive. Take the slow road…skip the interstates…it’s soooo much better. Thoroughly enjoyed the Hudson Valley! Poughkeepsie, Hudson, Athens, Hyde Park and many many more, all easily accessible to NYC by car or train. The architecture and way of life is so old and slow. In a good way lol.
Had coffee and a snack from the Poughkeepsie Grind and ate at a cute little place in Hudson called Kitty’s. Not a single Walmart or Dollar General the entire ride. There must be some, but none that ever tarnished the landscape of the quaint little towns. Highly recommend! Spent our last 3 nights in the US in Plattsburgh NY.
